Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by Black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of Black folx in U.S. history. It is the mission of San Diego Unified School District to educate on the rich culture, invaluable contributions, struggles, triumphs, and memorable figures of African American History in the hopes that these efforts are observed from January 1st-December 31st.
